The popular pasture-raised egg brand Vital Farms has partnered with Disney and actress Liza Colón-Zayas on a custom commercial that airs alongside the fourth season of Hulu’s hit series The Bear, reports Marketing Dive. At a time when brands are looking for increasingly subtle ways to tap into pop culture and capture audience attention, Vital Farms has found the right recipe.
Teaming up with Disney and FX, the pasture-raised egg producer launched a custom branded spot that plays just before each episode of the new season.
A Commercial with the Taste of Nostalgia – and Omelettes
At the heart of the 30-second ad is actress Liza Colón-Zayas, known for her role as Tina Marrero – The Bear’s no-nonsense kitchen veteran. In the commercial, Colón-Zayas plays a restaurant guest who orders the now-iconic omelet – a nod to the viral dish from season two. The chef asks for ‘the good eggs,’ clearly referring to Vital Farms, and finishes the dish with their butter. When the omelet is served, she smiles and says: ‘That’s what I’m talking about’.
‘When the opportunity came to advertise during the new season, we knew we wanted more than just a presence – we wanted to honor the spirit of the show,’said Kathryn McKeon, Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of Butter at Vital Farms.
A Brand That Knows Where the Audience Is Watching
The Bear continues to capture the attention of both viewers and brands, now in its third consecutive year of success. The season three premiere attracted 5.4 million views within the first four days, making it Hulu’s most-watched scripted premiere ever.
Vital Farms is using this cultural momentum to further highlight its ‘Good Eggs. No Shortcuts.’ campaign, launched in February in collaboration with GUT Miami. Shot in a documentary style, the campaign features interviews with the brand’s partner farmers, emphasizing their commitment to animal welfare and ethical production.
Time for an Egg Rebrand
The commercial didn’t air randomly – it arrived just as the U.S. egg market is stabilizing following the record-high prices of 2024, largely caused by avian flu outbreaks.
In March, the average price of a dozen eggs in the U.S. peaked at $6.23, but it has since dropped to around $2.52, which is more affordable than the same period last year.
Despite the volatility, Vital Farms has continued its growth trajectory. In Q1 of 2025, the company posted a 9.6% increase in net revenue, marking its 20th consecutive quarter of growth since going public in 2020.
Vital Farms isn’t the first brand to tap into The Bear’s storytelling potential. Last year, Coca-Cola launched the campaign ‘New Guy,’ directed by The Bear’s own showrunner Christopher Storer, which brought together the company’s entire brand portfolio in a single spot inspired by the episode ‘Fishes’ from season two.
This new format – branded content embedded in narrative television, especially with authentic storylines and characters – is gaining ground in a world where audiences skip traditional ads but stay for the story, concludes Marketing Dive.
