The Grand Sempler, the highest award of the Sempler Awards Competition for the best media strategies in the Adriatic region, went to The Bedtime Storytellers project, created by Grey Ljubljana for A1 Slovenija. The project also received two Golden Semplers. Two Golden Semplers were awarded to New Moment New Ideas Company Serbia, Luna TBWA Group with OMD Slovenia and Direct Media Group each.
“All the jury members were impressed by The Bedtime Storytellers project. We mutually decided that it is worthy of the highest award. It involves the use of different channels and target groups in an exceptional way. The target group – the elderly – is the one that creates the content in the whole campaign, which makes the project even more special,” said Darko Ivančević, the president of this year’s Sempler Awards Jury, VP for Staropramen at Molson Coors.
The Golden Sempler was not awarded only in the best use of data or research initiative category. “Data is the key tool in media strategy planning, that is why the jury expected that the entries would reflect results of the relevant use of data. Unfortunately, none of the entries included it, so we decided not to give the award in this category. This is our message to entrants in the following years to clearly explain how data contributed to the media strategy success,” Ivančević added.
At the Sempler Awards Show after the first day of the 19th media trends conference SEMPL two special TOP SEMPL Awards were also given. Award for The Media Manager 2017 went to Peter Frankl, editor-at-large and CEO of Finance newspaper, while Maša Crkovič, head of analytics and CX at Futura DDB received the Future Media Star 2017 Award.
