Forest fires leave a path of destruction behind them, and nature alone cannot fight back against all the dangers we expose it to. Last year, from June 1 to August 31, more than 1,300 fires blazed across the coast of Croatia, covering almost 60,000 hectares of land.
The Croatian Scout Association has launched a campaign for the largest volunteer reforestation and reconstruction of the burned areas of Dalmatia in the history of Croatia. And it’s fitting, as the fires along the Croatian coastline endanger extremely large forest areas.
In cooperation with Imago Ogilvy a powerful promotional and educational media campaign called Boranka was conceived. Designed as an interactive campaign, Boranka aims to raise awareness of citizens, especially children, about the importance of forests, nature protection, and prevention and protection from fires.
As a proud sponsor of this valuable action, Tele2 plans to plant over 10,000 pines and invites all its users to join the campaign through donations or by planting the trees themselves.
“Last year, instead of buying Christmas presents for business partners, we directed the funds to help firefighters by donating them the necessary unmanned Yuneec H520 aircraft to help them survey the terrain. But now we’re going a step further. We are proud that we have the opportunity to sponsor this valuable project through sponsorship and actual activities. We hope that all citizens will recognize the importance and value of the action and join us,” said Sonja Miočić, communications director of Tele2.
