On Thursday, April 25, at 19.00hrs, Studio Sonda will open the exhibition titled DIZAJN SA ŠTERNE. The exhibition will present an overview of the work by Studio Sonda through a selection of design works created over the past 15 years.
Designed in isolation, far from the crowd of large centres, for clients ranging from local to international, Sonda’s works are inspired by the capacity of designed products to create new meanings and new stories, and are focused on interaction, research, opening of unknown perspectives on familiar things, creating new links between objects, ideas, individuals, and communities.
The curator of the exhibition is Marko Golub.
Through original objects, visual documentation and texts, the exhibition features Sonda’s most important projects since 2004: from the launch and editing of the magazine Sonda, over long collaborations with the Used Book Fair BOOKtiga, the Casanova Festival of Love and Erotica, the Pula Film Festival and the Slovenian producer of sports equipment Elan; then packaging and visual identity designs (Piquentum, Studena, Radenska); the creation of numerous books and publications, all the way to the launch of their Creative Centre in Vižinada.
Many of Sonda’s works to be exhibited won awards at prestigious domestic and international awards shows, including Art Directors Club, Red Dot, European Design Awards, Golden Drum, BalCannes, HOW’s International Design Award, IdejaX, Dieline Awards, Plus X, Cropak, Regpak, Zgraf, Croatian Designers’ Awards, and many others. This is the second solo exhibition of the Studio Sonda in HDD (Sonda Live in Zagreb was held in 2011), but it is the first one that retrospectively looks at the whole opus of their work.
