The idea of telling a story about beer that goes beyond the product itself led to an interesting collaboration between Osječka pivovara and the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek (AUKOS). The result of the project, titled “Masterpieces of New Generations”, was presented at an exhibition that opened on June 11 at the Cultural Centre in Osijek.
The starting point for the entire initiative was the Osječko Premium slogan “A Masterpiece by the Old Masters.” Rather than limiting that idea exclusively to beer, the project partners decided to transfer it into an artistic context. Students were invited to draw inspiration from Osječko Premium beer and create original works through their own artistic expression, without restrictions on technique or format.
A total of eleven works were presented at the exhibition, each connecting centuries-old brewing tradition with the contemporary artistic expression of young creators in different ways. During the evening programme, the winning works selected by a jury composed of representatives of Osječka pivovara and the academy were also announced and awarded.
The first prize and financial support of €800 were awarded to Ivona Lendić. Second place and €450 went to Lucija Vidaković, while third place, accompanied by support of €250, was awarded to Sara Čurdinjaković. The remaining participants received Osječko Premium branded gift packages.
In addition to the award-winning artists, the exhibition featured works by Sandra Radočaj, Marion Plavec, Ivona Vojvodić, Paola Kršić, Magdalena Samardžić, Edita Kercel, Lucija Bralić and Nora Vrselja.
The project, however, does not end with the exhibition. The artworks created as part of the initiative will soon be permanently installed in cafés and restaurants across Slavonia that partner with Osječka pivovara, giving young artists an opportunity for their work to be seen by a wide audience on a daily basis.
