Work plan for the next four years of the Serbian Association for Marketing Communications (UEPS) was unanimously adopted at0 the first regular meeting of the new Board of Directors of the Association. The new composition of the Board has devised an ambitious set of activities which includes substantial changes aimed at modernizing the Association and a proactive approach which will include not just the members of the Board, but all those who see the Association as a place for improvement and affirmation of the industry.
Conditionally speaking, the plan could be divided into two sections, one of which is devoted to development and modernization of the existing forms of Association’s activities, and the other devoted to introduction of completely new modes of action.
In the context of existing activities, it is planned to define the brand strategy with the delimitation of what is heritage and what is the future, ie. the direction of development and mission of the Association. As part of the communications strategy, a series of activities have been designed to improve and modernize the existing, and introduce new forms of communication. One of them is the creation of a modern and user friendly website that will have more attractive visual and technical elements that will have updated and relevant content. Also, a redesign of the logo and development of new graphic standards are underway.
The next segment of the activities will be devoted to improving the Days of UEPS, within which they will work on the modernization of the event, then the determination of criteria for the selection of the juries, whose composition should contribute to the specific gravity of awards and redefining the categories. Within these activities, the Board will consider and determine the new fee rates, which should be additionally stimulating for members of the Association.

Among the new activities, the plan envisages organizing two conferences during the year.
Spring UEPS Conference should be oriented towards the individual, and individual accomplishments, and the fall Conference will be something that is defined each year, and which is relevant and topical at the moment. These would include panels, presentations, guest lectures…
The next novelty is more active involvement of the market leaders in the work of the Association. Advisory and any other assistance of the industry leaders is not only desirable, but necessary. The bottom line is that the interests of the companies they lead should be a guideline for the operation of the Association, because associations exist to protect and regulate the interests of the membership. Each member has the right and obligation to influence the work and operations of UEPS in an advisory capacity and a constructive manner.
The inclusion of new members in the Association is a priority throughout the year and the obligation of members of the Board during the entire term of office. This year in this respect was started more than well – seven new members have joined the Association, and the plan is to work on continuous increase of membership, at least two dozen a year.
It is also planned to strengthen the association’s office, primarily by hiring people and companies per individual projects.
