Frikom has decided to continue with the recent intriguing campaign with a twist, by giving everyone the ability to design their own billboard. Listening to the reactions of the audience, in collaboration with the Pioniri agency, they launched “My Billboard is Better Than Yours” competition from 09 to 22 May, during which everyone can create a billboard with their own message, and the best will receive prizes and will be included in the OOH campaign across Serbia.
Frikom has faced some serious criticism after internet users hijacked some of the images of their billboards and photoshopped them to distort the messages on them. Some were humorous, but many were very explicit and insulting. The brand therefore decided to turn things around, and actually called their fans to show their talents and express their creativity in the right way, and to win prizes on top of it all.
“Our company faced a problem after we were criticized because of inappropriate photomontages that circulated online. We always support creativity, but what we really don’t want is that our campaign is linked to vulgar slogans and messages from pranksters. The idea was that our billboards bring smiles to the passers-by, and not to cause a flood of photoshopped images and negative comments,” said Frikom.
Also, Frikom says they decided to “approach the whole crisis as a challenge, and turn it into a new chance for communication with consumers, this time on digital channels.” They also add that they don’t want ice-cream lovers to be deprived of fun, so they decided to motivate people to participate in the design of the Frikom billboards and create new messages and rhymes of their own.
All who are interested can create their own billboards using 15 templates on mojbilbordjeboljiodtvog.rs microsite. Each day, the user that was most successful in giving character to the ice cream will be selected, and besides winning a sweet gift package, their work will find itself on one of the billboards throughout Serbia.
