A creative idea can attract attention, but its true value only becomes evident through what it has managed to change. In consumer behavior, brand strength, or business results. This distinction between a good idea and its proven impact has been at the heart of Effie Awards Croatia for years, and its Organizing Committee is now preparing a new edition of the competition.
Preparations are focused on further improving competition standards, encouraging high-quality entries, and consistently applying the international rules of Effie Worldwide. The goal is to recognize campaigns that demonstrate how strategic thinking and creativity can deliver tangible results together, while further strengthening the position of the Croatian communications industry on the international stage.
The new season also brings a change in the composition of the Organizing Committee. Alina Selanac from Wiener osiguranje has joined as a new advertiser representative, selected following a process conducted in accordance with the Committee’s Rules of Procedure.
Selanac sees the role of Effie as extending beyond simply rewarding successful campaigns. At a time when new tools enable faster and more intensive communication than ever before, she believes it is more important than ever to consider the value marketing creates for people and businesses. She particularly emphasizes that effectiveness should not be a question raised only after a campaign has ended, but rather the starting point of its planning.
Alongside Selanac, advertisers on the Organizing Committee are represented by Dubravka Štefanac (A1 Hrvatska) and Bruno Krčelić (ENNA grupa). The agency sector is represented by Dina Dretvić (Imago Ogilvy), Ljiljana Ivošević (OMD Media), and Jelena Fiškuš (Studio Sonda). The neutral representatives are Andrea Mišura Žuvela (Mizuco) and Mario Fraculj (Algebra Bernays University), while Eva Trstenjak participates in the Committee’s work as a representative of HURA and IAB Croatia.
The Committee’s task is to continue developing a competition in which an award is not only a recognition of creative excellence, but also of marketing’s ability to respond to real business challenges. Through such examples, Effie aims to raise industry standards and demonstrate what happens when a good idea is supported by a clearly defined objective, a well-considered strategy, and measurable results.
