The Cresta Awards, launched in 1993 by Creative Standards International to honor an absolute standard of creative excellence in advertising and marketing communications, announced the finalists in its 25th annual worldwide competition.
Competing for the coveted award is one representative from the Adriatic region. Namely, project Hope which Bruketa&Žinić OM did for Adris Foundation is on the shortlist, after recently being awarded with the Wood Pencil by the D&AD, and was declared the best project in print communication by Design Week.
The Cresta Awards cover twelve major competitions and the work is judged on the basis of two criteria only: the originality of the creative idea and the quality of its execution. A Grand Prix will be awarded to the highest scoring entries that achieve a pre-determined standard (above a ‘set’ score).
Dominating this year’s shortlists is McCann, New York, with a total of thirty two finalists. HEIMAT, Berlin scored eighteen finalists, followed by AMVBBDO, London and Forsman & Bodenfors, Gothenburg with thirteen finalists each, Leo Burnett, Frankfurt with eleven, and McCann, Melbourne with ten finalists.
From the 52 countries participating in this year’s awards, 26 achieved finalist status, and a total of 234 ads, campaigns and Interactive entries are pressing on towards the awards.
All finalists will be evaluated by Cresta’s International Grand Jury of 86 internationally known creative directors, film specialists, graphic designers and interactive professionals from 46 countries. The jury is chaired by Yuya Furukawa, Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Inc., Tokyo. ‘Winners’ will be announced on Friday, Oct. 13th.
