COCA-COLA DISCOVERS A MARKET THAT WILL SAVE THEIR SOFT DRINKS BUSINESS
Since the soft drinks business in the USA is suffering, Coca-Cola is in search for a new market, and the company claims it’s Africa. From 2010 to 2020 the beverage giant will invest a total of 17 billion dollars, and hopes to double the winnings.
“We are very optimistic about the economic and social growth in Africa and we recognize the importance of ensuring the benefits of consumer tastes by expanding our offer and adding new products,” Coca-Cola’s executive officer for East and West Africa, Kevin Balogun, told Business Insider.
Coca-Cola is thus adapting to the market, and the needs and tastes of local consumers. For example, Sparletta Stoney Tangawizi and Krest Bitter Lemon are juices produced at the micro level solely for the African region. This is what makes this company the most competitive in the world.
SUPER BOWL SHATTERS THE BOUNDARIES OF COMMON SENSE
Summary of the 50th Super Bowl, as always, refers to the figures, namely the money, which again shattered all the boundaries of common sense…
While Broncos celebrated the unexpected title, and fans mourned the end of the great Peyton Manning, various head-spinning data surfaced. Let’s start from the beginning.
This Super Bowl has raked in an income of $620m to the participants in the event, making these finals the highest paid in the world. For example, the match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao brought an income of $600 million.
A ticket bought from the scalpers in front of Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco cost five thousand dollars, a price scalpers had never achieved before!
Bets worth more than $4bn were paid on this match in the US bookmakers alone, while as many as 97 percent of all bets were made illegally.
CBS, the official media sponsor of the game, charged 30 second commercials as much as $5m, and thus earned about $350m from advertising during this match
A staggering 190 million Americans watched the grand finale, which makes the largest audience in history.
The only thing that doesn’t change is the diamond ring, given to all members of the winning team. It costs five thousand US dollars, and it’s the only figure within this show that hasn’t increased compared to past editions of the Super Bowl.
Although San Francisco has the most homeless people in the United States, the local authorities decided to invest over $150m in the organization of, obviously, the single largest sporting event in the world.
Is all of it worth it that much? It’s a hypothetical question, unfortunately.
