THE NEW MM IS OUT
Slovenian Marketing Magazine has recently issued the Slovenian translation of the latest book by an international branding expert, Martin Lindstrom, titled Small Data: The Tiny Clues that Uncover Huge Trends. On that occasion an exclusive interview was done with Lindstrom, in which he advised readers to start looking for small data, that people leave behind and from which researchers can identify significant trends.
“In our lives, everything revolves around finding the balance, which is why most of the time we are unbalanced – we might think that we are too heavy, too old, we have the feeling that we haven’t achieved enough for our age, maybe we feel we don’t have enough friends. And all our imbalances represent a chance for brands. Your goal, as a brand, should be to determine where people are out of balance. The more we are unbalanced, the more opportunities brands can find for themselves. It may be a product for balancing the body weight, a matchmaking portal, anything that people need to achieve greater balance. Your goal, as a researcher, when you visit people in their homes would therefore have to be to understand why they are unbalanced and then start working on linking. Only after that you can use numbers, the big data,” Martin Lindstrom says among other things in the interview for the latest issue of Marketing Magazine.
