Leading Croatian communicators will gather on 6 and 7 December 2018 at the Kaptol Boutique Cinema in Zagreb for the KOMferencija – the 19th Annual Conference on Communication and Public Relations organized by the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ).
Unlike previous editions, this year’s conference with its new name also brings a number of novelties in concept and content. Namely, the stage will be given to those who don’t deal with communications and public relations, either by education or by profession.
Psychologists, economists, anthropologists, lawyers, politicians, editors, journalists, managers, adventurers and artists will speak at the event.
Public relations experts will moderate and listen, which actually is one of their roles in encouraging and nurturing a successful dialogue.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL’S REVOLUTIONARY APP MAKES AUDIENCE PART OF THE SHOW
TORUK – The First Flight, an unusual experience with the signature of Cirque du Soleil and inspired by James Cameron’s film, will soon be coming to the Zagreb’s Arena as part of the European leg of the great world tour. This is the last, unique opportunity for local audience to see this magnificent performance, which brings special magic for the viewers when the lights go out and the signal to start is given.
Using the HANA technology, each user during the show can find their exact location in the app, which triggers special visual effects in the Arena. HANA precisely coordinates the interactive effects of the show by capturing thousands of smartphones that simultaneously participate in creating light and visual effects in the play. The audience feels as if they are on the stage, and are participating in the demanding choreography. The app leads viewers through the show, giving instructions on when to turn their phone, shake it, press a button or light up the specially designed lighting that reflects on the stage. In this way they create a part of the play together and this connects them in a unique way.
Up until now, the show has been seen by almost a million and a half people, and has played over 350 times in more than 50 cities across the globe. James Cameron’s movie hit, which proudly carries the title of the most successful movie of all time with earnings of $3.6 billion, served as an inspiration, and the story takes viewers back three thousand years before the action of the movie.
TORUK – The First Flight will be set up at the Zagreb Arena, from 7 to 9 December 2018, and tickets for four performances can be purchased via Eventim.

MICROSOFT REPLACES AMAZON IN SECOND PLACE OF MOST VALUABLE COMPANIES
The world’s largest software maker, Microsoft, has replaced Amazon in the second place on the list of US companies with the highest market value.
After Amazon announced Friday weaker than expected Q3 business results, the share price of the tech giant dropped on Wall Street by almost 8 percent. This is the biggest daily drop for Amazon in nearly three years, with the Amazon market value dropping by roughly $65 billion, to $ 805 billion.
On the other hand, Microsoft’s share value rose since Wednesday last week, when the company announced four percent better than expected quarterly results, so its market value reached $823 billion.
Thus, Microsoft reclaimed the second place in the list of most valuable companies in the United States after the Amazon overtook them back in April. The top spot on this list is still held by Apple, the world’s first company worth over one trillion USD.
