These are the words of the young creatives from the Banja Luka agency Play Team, Tihana and Dijana Tepšić and Bojan Dragišić, who, for the second year, are successfully navigating a team of talented people who all strive towards a single goal – to be better than themselves.
Behind them are several high quality projects such as the first Play Media Day, which brought together several dozen professionals from the fields of media, marketing and PR with the ambition to become recognized as a brand across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
There is, of course, their regionally popular TV program RECreativno sa Dijanom Tepšić, and the team is also diligently working on new projects. One of them will be particularly appealing to young talented musicians, because the Jelen Music Show will soon arrive to promote BiH’s music scene. Clients that they are especially proud of include Molson Coors, NLB Bank, UniCredit Bank Banja Luka, Alma Ras, Blicnet, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Lanaco. They also received an award from Lanaco for their special contribution to the promotion of the company and the implementation of the company’s formal academy on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. Media Marketing: The first Play Media Day in Banja Luka is behind us, but given that you announced it as the first of many, what can we expect in the future? Is your own brand in the making?
Play Team: We are very pleased with the response of participants at the first Play Media Day conference. Although the event was not a public event, but designed for media representatives, and the clients and companies we work with, we had calls and inquiries every day from people asking how they could sign up. Play Team has officially began preparations for the second such event, which will be held in spring 2017. April next year probably seems very far away, but in order to prepare an event that will be relevant and attractive both for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, you need good organization, market analysis, and the support of sponsors. We are sure that in the period ahead of us we will provide all the necessary conditions for Play Media Day to become an attractive event that will attract public attention and become an widely talked about event. We are currently looking for a unique location, which will be accessible, large enough, and also multifunctional, so that the next Play Media Day can offer more interactive content and bring companies, agencies and the media together in one place.
Media Marketing: How important could such an event be for the media, marketing and PR in creating their own events in BiH, which besides improving business would also promote the potential for tourism?
Play Team: Great projects spring to life after conferences such as this one, and they quite simply drive you to create new things in your own work environment. We experienced that after returning from the Weekend Media Festival, from Sempl, from PRO.PR, and other similar events offered in neighboring countries. Our market is crying out for education, better projects and new information about current global trends. We will try to include and promote the potential that Banja Luka and Bosnia and Herzegovina have to offer, and in addition to educational content, this event will offer quality night life for all participants, and will enable them to experience the magic offered by this area.
Media Marketing: How much have contacts and the exchange of experiences with other agencies helped you as a creative team in improving your own potential? How important is networking with agencies and the exchange of experiences, in the sense that you draw out the best from each other, not compete as rivals?
Play Team: Contacts are absolutely the most important thing today, as well as the helpfulness of the people you meet through the projects you implement. In our team the word ‘competition’ doesn’t have a negative connotation, quite the contrary. We value and respect the knowledge and experience of colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, with whom we have so far successfully cooperated. Similarly, we are also ready to share our own experiences with others, and therein lies the charm of this work. Given that we are still a small agency, it’s important to be aware that we have to work on ourselves if we want to survive in a big industry that is rapidly changing by the minute. Our focus is on improving our services and our team and that’s actually our highest goal – to be better than ourselves.
Media Marketing: Which socially responsible projects are you currently working on?
Play Team: Summer is a busy season for us, so the video team is constantly on the road, making video reports for the RECreativno sa Dijanom Tepšić show. Very soon, together with Molson Coors and Jelen beer, we will launch a completely unique domestic production project – the Jelen Music Show, which will further promote local musicians and revive the music scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since it was created, the Play Team has been supporting the local music scene, but also creatives who have yet to shine. With joint forces we will provide even more affirmation of our musicians and create a competitive spirit and the desire for the placement of new music, which will create a significant music chart in this region.
Media Marketing: What are your plans for the RECreativno sa Dijanom Tepšić show?
Play Team: Creativity is our favorite topic. It’s all around us and comes in various forms. We are delighted by the creative people we meet doing the show every day. Our job is to present individuals in a positive and affirmative way and to tell stories that move and inspire other people. We’re already in the fourth season on air, and we are proud that it has been recognized regionally. People contact us wanting to be part of the show. We have presented more than 300 talented people in various fields: from music, culture, art, innovation, design, education, and entrepreneurship to sport. We have interviewed more than eighty regional stars. We have covered and supported more than a hundred events, socially responsible actions and projects. We have visited many cities and festivals across the country and the region. We present the results, successes, ideas, dreams and goals of creatives. Although this all started with a local story and support to local artists and creatives, the story was recognized regionally, so we have expanded this story of creativity to the whole region. Although we look across the region every day for creativity, inspiring stories and people who need to be affirmatively presented to the public, calls also arrive on their own. It can often happen that we travel to various locations around the country and the region in one week. It’s not easy to get around to do everything, and to be in the right place at the right time. Producing the show is very demanding, but we are succeeding in realizing it all thanks to good organization, team work, much love, effort and work. The show has only now really become a brand, and more surprises and interesting content are in store. We have an excellent model, and we set out on an adventure that has produced many good things.
Media Marketing: You have two years of business behind you. Could you briefly recap your work and what it is that gives you particular satisfaction?
Play Team: We’ve done a lot in just two years. Play Team consists of creative professionals from different branches of the creative industry. We work really well as a team and love what we do. There is no challenge that we can’t overcome. We always look forward to new projects and challenges. We have many socially responsible projects. Many of our acquaintances across the country and the region have grown into successful partnerships and friendships. We work with a number of local and regional partners, festivals and companies. The project we are most proud of is the show RECreativno sa Dijanom Tepšić, which has opened many doors for us. We have met a lot of people and traveled many kilometers across the region. Play Team and the RECreativno sa Dijanom Tepšić are proof that dreams can come true, but it is important to do what you love, believe in yourself and your dreams and never give up. A lot of time, effort, hard work and love must be invested every day, you have to do it with all your heart, and then results and success will be guaranteed. We have implemented a number of successful projects and supported numerous socially responsible activities, and in our two years of existence we have worked with over 50 clients and brands. Our time is yet to come. We promise to surprise the public with new innovative projects in the future.
