For the past three days, we, as a media outlet, had the privilege of publishing Miša Lukić’s three-part series on how generative artificial intelligence is transforming brand communication. The fact that Miša dedicated part of his vacation time in Greece to us makes our satisfaction even greater.
Miša Lukić is a unique figure in the regional communication industry. He is exceptionally creative, practical, innovative… He generously shares his knowledge with others, so this is not the first time Miša has sent us an article that will enrich all who read it with new knowledge and inspire them to take a step further in their work and life.
These days, I opened all of Miša’s articles that we have published so far. There are about 25, and each one seems as if it were written yesterday. Everything he predicted came true, and these articles on the changing communication of brands under the influence of generative AI certainly foreshadow what will define brand communication in the years to come. Reading some of the articles published ten or fifteen years ago has completely refreshed me and given me the new energy I need (especially the article: Dragan Sakan, Man of the Future). I’ve aged, I’m slow, but still reachable, and that’s why any inspiration is welcome. If you want to treat me, don’t send me gifts. Send me some good news, or an article for the portal that will inspire me too. Miša, thank you, you truly treated me with your articles.

Miša Lukić has been in “our” business for 25 years, while I have been in it for twice as long and five years more (55 years). In his last three articles, Miša wrote about the changes brought by the emergence of artificial intelligence. This prompted me to reflect on all the changes that have happened in my work over the past 55 years. As the thoughts came to me, I wrote them down on paper. I reached five pages, too much to fit into the Diary. It would be a long text, although certainly interesting to younger people who have never even heard of some of the things my generation went through. Maybe someday I’ll find the time to write that text. Those 55 years were full of everything, exciting in any case. Each change brought something new, surprising, sometimes even revolutionary.
However, I will mention here my first memory of the advertising industry. I will go back to 1957 when I was seven years old. At that time, ads were only published on the radio, in newspapers, and on posters. Flyers dropped from airplanes by members of aero clubs were a big attraction. They would take a large bag of advertising flyers and drop them from the airplane, and we would pick them up from the streets, often from puddles and mud, and take them home to our parents as if they were of great value. I remember well, even though it was almost 70 years ago, that we children would run down the street looking up at the sky, shouting, “Airplane, drop a flyer, I’ll give you my aunt!” Much has happened between that slogan and artificial intelligence. Wow!
As I was going through Miša’s articles these days, I also came across one that was in some backup folder labeled “Miša” and which we never published. I’m doing so now because I consider it extremely important for understanding Miša’s life philosophy and getting to know his personality better.
Miša titled this short text: The New Year symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in the book called Life.
Although the New Year is still far away, the text is relevant every day, every week, and every month throughout one’s life. Try to remember this and act accordingly. Your life will be much richer and more fulfilling.
For many years now, I have had the same resolution for every New Year, which goes like this:
- Ask yourself at the end of each week whether you would include any moment from the past seven days in your life’s movie.
- Ask yourself at the beginning of each week what you could do in the next seven days that you would be proud of after you turn 80.
- Ask yourself, at the end of each day, week, month, and year, whether you could have done better in any way: for your family, friends, company, clients, Serbia, the world, humanity… for yourself!
Yesterday, I had coffee with Irena Miličević Vukoja. Of course, we talked about the upcoming Woman.Comm conference (October 15-16) and the No Limit BH Advertising Festival (November 21). When Irena started commenting on Miša’s articles, very positively, of course, I suggested that she invite Miša to No Limit to give an exclusive half-hour lecture before the award ceremony. It would be a new format that would significantly enrich the festival and connect it more closely with the region. Sarajevo has the best film festival in the region and beyond; Sarajevo can also have the best advertising festival in the region. Miša Lukić is the best beginning to achieve that mission.
Irena and I will send him an invitation tomorrow to be our guest in Sarajevo. We hope he will find the time.
