While the region is on pause, Sarajevo is breathing with full advertising lungs!

For the advertising industry, August usually symbolizes a slowdown, but for Sarajevo it’s the peak of the year thanks to the Sarajevo Film Festival and the campaigns that accompany it. Among the brands that marked this year’s festival, Coca-Cola in Bosnia and Herzegovina stood out with its “U svom filmu” campaign.

As part of Coca-Cola’s 56 years of presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, their partnership with the Sarajevo Film Festival is described as one of the longest-standing and most significant. Over nearly three decades of collaboration, it has grown into a true friendship built on trust and dedication to culture, art, and community. For 29 years, Coca-Cola and the Festival have been working together to promote a positive image of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to nurture a tradition that inspires, brings people together, and connects.

As one of the main sponsors of the Festival, Coca-Cola in BiH once again brought magic to the event this year, erasing the boundaries between the screen and real life. Under the slogan “U svom filmu – In Your Element”, Coca-Cola invited visitors to find their own role in the festival buzz – to be what they want, when they want, and with whom they want. To be the main characters of their film summer: jokers, queens, legends “in their element.” This year’s campaign was creatively developed by the agency McCann Sarajevo.

A special place in this story was reserved for the Summer Cinema Metalac, a cult festival location and one of the favorite spots of all Sarajevo Film Festival visitors, which this year carried the recognizable symbols of Coca-Cola. The Eating Point, organized by Coca-Cola during the Festival, was once again located in front of the Army Hall, at the very heart of the festival atmosphere, where visitors had the opportunity to enjoy top-class gastronomy, listen to performances by great bands, take part in quizzes, after-work parties, and numerous prize activations. This year, the festival experience was further enriched by the introduction of free Wi-Fi across all Festival locations, enabling visitors to connect and share their moments.

“We are very proud that through our partnership with the Sarajevo Film Festival we can contribute to the long-standing tradition of a positive image of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the Festival consistently builds. Through this cooperation, we have the opportunity to support the development of the film scene, with a special focus on young authors, and to jointly promote Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina as an important regional center of film art and an unmissable festival destination,” said representatives of Coca-Cola in BiH.

During the Sarajevo Film Festival, Coca-Cola once again implemented the project “Recycle Me. Give Me a New Life.”, within which recycling bins were placed at 17 festival locations for proper waste sorting and recycling. According to the company, since 2021 more than 130 tons of waste have been collected and recycled during the Festival – a result that is seen not just as a figure, but as proof that awareness and responsibility are growing year by year.
