The Cannes Lions in Sarajevo was held yesterday, with presentations from creative directors from the region who led the teams that have won the Cannes Lions for the Adriatic region. Creative directors Toni Tomašek (Creative Director of Publicis Groupe Slovenia, Ljubljana), Dušan Drakalski (Regional Creative Director of New Moment New Ideas Company), Vladimir Ćosić (Creative Director of McCann Belgrade), Vlatko Dimovski (I&F McCann Group, Chief Operation Officer of McCann Adriatic), Žarko Veljković and Ivana Zeković (Creative Directors of Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade) gave very inspiring presentations that were awarded with lasting applause of the audience, that consisted of representatives of agencies, advertisers and media from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Adriatic region. Special guest from London was Rob Dembitz, Cannes Lions Corporate Development Director, who set the stage for the feast of creativity.
This festival of creativity in the fascinating, iconic, packed Vijećnica, opened with the film on last year’s Cannes Festival which showcased some of the most successful works. This was followed by a presentation by Rob Dembitz, who about why creativity matters, its impact on the success of brands and some practical issues of how to come up with the killer creative ideas. Dembitz’s lecture was followed by presentations of the most successful regional campaigns that have won Cannes Lions. In these presentations there were sincere emotions, personal stories of the road to success in Cannes, professional presentations of creative technologies and specific skills of coming up with creative ideas. All the guests generously shared their experience and practical advice with the audience, giving guidelines on how to make superior campaigns, worthy of prizes at major international festivals.
Soon, all presentations will be available on the Media Marketing’s YouTube channel, so I wouldn’t recount here about their content. It would be really difficult, if not impossible, to accurately convey emotions and precious valuable messages of the speakers who were inspired by the atmosphere in the Vijećnica.
An important part of the atmosphere was the excellent Atlantic Group which, as a sponsor, enriched the whole event with their creative menu. Very tasty and creative snacks prepared from products of members of the Atlantic Group have also provoked emotions among the participants of the event Cannes lions in Sarajevo who, after tasting, shared their emotions on notes and posted them on the CUBE, an installation of creative thinking that was brought in from Ljubljana especially for this occasion.
