In the year of Dr. Martin Luther King, today we read about the dreams of Manuela Šola, owner and CEO of the agency Komunikacijski laboratorij from Zagreb
My favourite childhood dream?
I can’t even remember my childhood dreams. But what was important to me then was to go to sleep earlier, and to be awake as long as possible so I could “have time” for imagination. It was obviously some of my own world of dreams and fantasies that had no boundaries.
What I dreamt of when I was entering the world of advertising?
Both then, and today, I loved communication. I didn’t know exactly where it would lead me, and what would come out of it, but I’m glad that I went into it with the attitude “let’s try, and see”. And now, 14 years later, here we are.
Was Komunikacijski laboratorij first a dream?
Yes and no. In essence, I never dreamed of being an entrepreneur, and yet here I am. Today, Komunikacijski laboratorij is an agency in which I realize many small and big dreams alike – interesting projects, tasks, collaborations. Every client of our agency represents a realization of some desire and effort.
Which dream led me to where I am today?
I’m here where I am thanks to hard work… and a bit of luck.
What I dream of today?
Today I dream of time. After so many years, time now seems as an increasingly important resource, and I often dream about it – just having a bit more time. There is no shortage of ideas and projects, I just need time to make it all happen. I dream of us being more responsible towards ourselves and others – I dream of us being a positive society.
Do I dream more awake or asleep?
I dream when I drive. If I’m not on my phone.
Are there any dreams I gave up on?
No. Certainly some desires and dreams have changed, and some parts thus dropped out over time, but new ones replaced them.
