The Sempler competition for the best media strategy in the Adriatic region, within the SEMPL Conference on media trends, will be held for the fifteenth time this year. In addition to the already familiar nine categories, creative and media agencies, media strategists, advertisers and media this year have the opportunity to enter their media projects in two more categories – the Best PR Strategy or Promotion, and the Best Technology Approach. So they can compete for eleven golden awards, as well as for the biggest prize, the Grand Sempler.

When evaluating reported media strategies, the nine-member international jury will consider five basic criteria: media campaign design, appropriate targeting and understanding of consumers, comparison between goals and achievements (ROI), innovation in search of (new) communication paths, and degree of activation and engagement of the target group through media strategy and execution.

According to Darko Ivančević, the president of this year’s Sempler jury, key for the winning media strategy is the importance of the overall marketing communication, which will be one of his criteria in the evaluation: “It’s not about strategy including all available channels, or that in some categories it focuses only on one. In both cases, the most important thing is that the project has a clear insight and a great idea, in short – a complete match between the media strategy and the brand strategy.”

According to Viktorija Radojević, key for winning the awards is high and measurable efficiency. “It is the result of all the factors of an excellent project, from an innovative concept to a creative execution,” Radojević believes.

Žarko Sakan added: “I believe every entry should have a local spirit, but it should also be appropriate for the global audience.” According to him, best work is usually surprisingly simple, original and appealing, it influences the broader audience, as planned, and inspires people to achieve more.

Entries for the Sempler contest are open from 1 September 2017 at www.sempl.si, and the deadline is 10 October 2017.
