WPP’s Grey has acquired Famous, a Belgian creative agency operating in French, Flemish and Dutch markets. With this move WPP is doubling down on its position in Europe, and reafirming their earlier statement they would “place an even greater emphasis” on the region’s growth following Brexit.
Grey Group has bought a majority stake in Brussels based Famous, which last year recorded revenue at €8.1m, with assets of approximately €7.5m. The agency’s main services include creative, design, strategy, innovation, digital and PR. Among the clients of this agency are names like American Express and Hyundai, and it has already been rebranded as FamousGrey.
David Patton, president and chief executive officer of Grey EMEA, said: “In view of the recent Brexit referendum, it’s imperative we actively seek to accelerate our expansion across key EU markets.
“Brussels sits at the heart of the EU and it’s now critical we have a strong agency presence in that city”.
