The seventh annual conference on the global development of the internet and the .RS and .SRB domain spaces of Serbia – DIDS 2016, will be held March 15 and 16, at the Hotel Hyatt Regency Belgrade, organized by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS). As in previous years, the concept for this year’s event was created by Lazar Bošković (AgitPROP), creative director, and Miodrag Veselinović (Metropolis), as art director. In charge of the organization of the event and media relations is Dragana Pešić-Lević (Blink), while Predrag Miličević and Jelena Ožegović will oversee DIDS on behalf of the organizers.
The creative concept of this year’s DIDS briefly describes all our daily lives, as well as the three thematic blocks of the Conference, through the slogan: We live the Internet… Global – Safe – Local. The first block is traditionally dedicated to current trends in the internet industry on a global level. The second block will focus on the theme of internet security, and the third block is, as always, reserved for the presentation of successful internet projects on Serbian national domains. The program of the first day will be conducted through presentations, lectures and panel discussions, with around twenty speakers and moderators from the country and the world.
On the second day the Regional Internet Forum – RIF 2016, will be held, which will bring together invited representatives of national internet registries of Southeast Europe, as well as representatives of state bodies, the local internet community and global internet organizations. DIDS is held with the support of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers – ICANN, the leading organization for internet governance and the management of its global structure.
As before, attendance at DIDS is free for all visitors, with mandatory registration due to the limited number of seats. Visitor registration begins in late February, on the web site www.dids.rs.
