A tear-jerking valentine’s film from a Toronto stationery store is capturing the imagination of Canadians, and it’s not hard to see why.
The film, created by BBDO Toronto, tells the story of one couple’s life through a series of handwritten notes they leave for each other. We only ever see their hands, pens and the short notes, but by the end of the three-and-a-half minute film it’s as if we’ve shared a whole lifetime: we see their communication evolve from first love to marriage, children, through a rough patch of taking each other for granted, and finally through to old age, grandparenthood and sickness.
“Leaving a note for someone is so much more personal and thoughtful than a text,” says Chris Booth, an associate creative director behind the work at BBDO Toronoto. “We wanted to remind people how meaningful such a simple thing can be.”
The film was released on Take Note’s Facebook page last Wednesday, and has already garnered more than 3.7 thousand views with no bought media support. Take Note is planning to support the video with promoted posts through the month of February.
