Reality – too serious, boring. TV content – uninteresting, unattractive. Online content – it’s ok, if you make an effort. Virtual reality? Oh, yes, of course! That’s how they think – the Generation Z and millennials, so creating VR content is almost the only safe form of communication with them.
This form of communication was the approach taken by Sarajevo-based Via Media agency, which created the VR educational platform to bring new content to the target group and enable them to learn new knowledge about smart energy use. The goal of this unique VR platform, whose main protagonist is the virtual character of Professor Atom, is to educate young generations in an interactive and innovative way, giving them the opportunity to cross the borders of the real world and step into the world of applied technology, which is becoming more and more present in our region.
The VR platform created as part of the “Like for Smart Energy” campaign was presented during a summer tour throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it attracted the attention of a large number of young visitors who patiently waited in cues (an unusual image today we must agree) to experience all the benefits of an entirely new educational tool. In the research and testing phase, a special focus was placed on the way the target group was behaving and thinking, so the creators decided to integrate a competitive (“gaming”) character to the educational platform, in order to further stimulate the participants and make the whole concept more attractive.
The concept, software, and the UI design were tone by the creative and development teams of Via Media, while the entire project is realized under the framework of the campaign for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in BiH and their project “Green Economic Development”.

By fully implementing the first project of this kind in BiH, relying solely on its own and domestic resources and strengths, Via Media once again confirmed that it is ready to respond to all the challenges and trends that the communication market imposes on the agencies today.
