NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) announced the rebrand of Universal Channel to DIVA in Serbia / Croatia / Slovenia. One of the channels in the company’s portfolio, DIVA is a female-skewed entertainment network that will begin broadcasting on 1st September.
“DIVA is an internationally successful channel brand with a unique positioning and we believe it has strong potential to appeal to viewers in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, too,” said Colin McLeod, Managing Director, UK and Emerging Markets, NBCUniversal International Networks. “With a compelling line-up of top-rating drama, inspiring documentaries and great movies, DIVA encourages viewers to have fun, relax and be themselves.”
This autumn, DIVA will exclusively premiere the brand new medical drama Heartbeat on 27th September, loosely inspired by the real-life work and achievements of Dr. Kathy Magliato. Starring Melissa George as outspoken, world-renowned heart-transplant surgeon Dr. Alex Panttiere, the series follows her triumphs and tribulations in her demanding job and unpredictable personal life.
DIVA viewers will also be able to enjoy popular series such as Nashville, Grey’s Anatomy, Hawaii Five-O, Midsomer Murders and Gilmore Girls, all airing on the channel this autumn. Autumn movie premieres will include Hollywood blockbusters Bridget Jones’ Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Notting Hill and About A Boy.
