The festival Days of Communication, which is set to take place from 12 to 15 April 2018 in Rovinj, brings examples of campaigns from across the globe that have had a major impact on the industry, but also in the way we consume the media and experience the world around us. The festival promotes good practices, but it also examines controversies that move the boundaries and affect the perception of the industry in public. The first announced speakers with whom we will have the opportunity to discuss at the festival are the global creative director of Twitter, Jayanta Jenkins, and the director of digital media of Trump’s presidential campaign, Brad Parscale.
“It’s a great success to bring to Croatia world leaders and experts who dictate the trends of our industry, so I’m especially proud of this year’s roster of speakers that is certainly the strongest so far. Days of Communication are a unique opportunity to listen to what they have to say, to ask them questions, while having great fun with our colleagues in the sunny Rovinj,” said Director of the Days of Communication and Festival Program Director Dunja Ivana Ballon. New names and lecturers will be unveiled weekly from now on, she added.
HURA President of the Board, Davor Bruketa, also commented: “Each year we bring lecturers who move boundaries, and we will continue to do so in 2018. Last year we hosted experts from the University of Cambridge specializing in big data psychology, with whom we talked about how to responsibly manage this data, and this year we’ll talk to director of digital of Trump’s campaign, who used real-time data and social responses to form political messages. We want to ask some questions to both of them. We will discuss controversial topics and best practices.”
One of the key figures of Trump’s campaign, Brad Parscale, will talk at the Days of Communication. With nearly 20 years of experience in digital media strategies, Brad Parscale is today the president of Parscale Strategy, which deals with political consulting and digital media for some of the Fortune 500 largest US corporations. In Rovinj, he will discover how Trump’s team attracted swing votes which were key to victory, and how real-time data and social responses enabled the formation of political messages in a way that had not been applied in campaigns before that.
As the global creative director of Twitter, Jayantha Jenkins holds the highest creative position in the company.
