Triglav Lab’s interiors and branding strategy have yet again won over the German jury

The German Brand Institute announced the winners of the prestigious German Brand Awards 2020, which are awarded to creatives for excellence in brand strategy and creation by an independent jury of industry professionals. Triglav Lab won the award in the category Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Architecture and Buildings.

The second international award, won by Triglav Lab (after last German Design Award Winner 2020 for its modern design with accents effectively integrating the corporate design), is the result of the collaboration between the Triglav Group, the design agency Gigodesign and the architectural bureau Triiije. The digital centre on the ground floor of the iconic Slovenijales department store by architect Milan Mihelič is designed as a multifunctional space, in which users can enter directly into an interactive contact with the brand through an intertwined digital and physical space.

The first insurance-oriented technology centre in the region, it familiarises users with advanced smart solutions; those who are uncomfortable using web interfaces can take out insurance policies on the spot; while interactive experiences of driving, ski flying, earthquakes and car accidents educate the public in learning how to react in dangerous situations.

Triglav Lab, a centre for digital innovation, gives users a chance to interact first-hand with advanced solutions while presenting a unified experience of the Triglav brand. It acts as a hub for developing and testing UX solutions, and a vital communication tool for the brand. The first insurance-oriented technology centre in the region, it occupies the ground floor of the iconic Slovenijales department store, its metal-trussed ceiling and concrete volume enveloping the open-plan configuration.

Tjaša Kolenc Filipčič, Director of Marketing Department at Zavarovalnica Triglav, responded to the encouraging news: “The digital playground of Triglav Lab is designed as a centre for innovation, and unites under one roof four companies within the Triglav Group: Zavarovalnica Triglav, Triglav Zdravje, Triglav Skladi and Triglav, pokojninska družba. It offers a unified brand experience of the Triglav brand, all while enabling a direct contact with smart solutions in the field of insurance. The technology centre, which, at the same time, represents an important brand communication tool, is a place in which to develop and test solutions to improve the user experience, holding events and workshops with our partners and collaborators. We are pleased to see international experts have recognised the excellence and practicality of our project.”

He worked on sponsorship projects for major international events, such as the Winter Olympic Games Sarajevo 1984, the World Cup Ski Finals Sarajevo 1987 (marketing director), the European Athletics Championships "Split 1990" (marketing director), the World Ski Flying Championships "Planica 1994," and others. He managed the sponsorship of Monica Seles from her early days to becoming the world’s number one female tennis player. He is the author of the Woman.Comm Club project, which is successfully expanding in all countries of the Adriatic region.
