A new competitive season in the communications industry is about to begin, and IdejaX—one of the most important professional competitions—will once again reward the most creative advertising work. Organized under the auspices of the Croatian Association of Communications Agencies (HURA!) as part of the national advertising festival Days of Communication, IdejaX honors the most original and unique ideas that push boundaries.
The Organizing Committee is responsible for planning the entire competition process. According to the Rules of Procedure of the IdejaX Organizing Committee, in addition to permanent members Dunja Ivana Ballon (HURA! and IAB Croatia), Damir Ciglar (Imago Ogilvy), Sean Poropat (Studio Sonda), Marko Šesnić (Studio Šesnić&Turković), Anselmo Tumpić (Studio Tumpić/Prenc), and Siniša Waldinger (Bruketa&Žinić&Grey), the Committee also includes direct rotating members Alen Kekić (I TO NIJE SVE), Fran Mubrin (404), Almir Okanović (BBDO Zagreb), and Marin Ostojić (ZOO agencija), as well as elected member Ivan Golubić (Futura DDB).
This composition brings new faces to an already experienced team, so we asked them what they’re planning and how they see the future of the competition.
“I’m thrilled to be able to dedicate some of my energy to the work of this committee. There’s no better feeling than the opportunity to make something great even better. IdejaX is rightfully considered the key award for creativity in market communications, and as a representative of a hybrid agency, I look forward to contributing through a contemporary creative lens,” said Fran Mubrin (404).
“In my opinion, IdejaX is the most important competition for creativity in the Croatian communications industry. Through my experience as a jury member, I’ve repeatedly witnessed that the organization, the judging process, and the submitted works are all of high quality, and it matters to me that the very best ideas are truly rewarded—regardless of background. That’s why I’m especially glad to now be part of the team behind it and to contribute to the continued development of the competition, which grows year after year. It’s important to me that we stay on the path IdejaX has taken but also persist in ongoing improvements, because there’s always room for growth,” said Marko Šesnić (Studio Šesnić&Turković).
“IdejaX is important because it promotes creative bravery, pushes its boundaries, and rewards those who dare to go further. I’m honored to be part of the Committee and look forward to contributing to the development of the competition by giving more space to fresh voices and listening to new trends in an industry that is itself rapidly and intensively evolving,” explained Ivan Golubić (Futura DDB).
“To me, IdejaX represents the essence of the Croatian creative industry—a place where ideas that push boundaries are celebrated, where the strength of the profession is showcased, and where we’re reminded why we do what we do. I look forward to becoming more actively involved in the Committee’s work, especially in strengthening the festival’s relevance for clients, as the award should not be seen as recognition from creatives to creatives only. Emphasizing strategy and effectiveness in submitted work is key to me, as well as fostering collaboration between agencies and clients. I also find it important to promote diversity and inclusion, and to ensure that IdejaX reflects all the talent in Croatia. My ultimate goal is for IdejaX to remain the most relevant benchmark of creative excellence and to inspire new generations,” concluded Sean Poropat (Studio Sonda).
Let us recall, both large and small agencies successfully compete at this creativity competition with their creative ideas and marketing projects, for which they can win gold, silver, and bronze awards, and independent artists are also welcome to participate.
According to the Rules of Procedure of the IdejaX Organizing Committee, permanent members serve a four-season term, while rotating members provide fresh perspectives each year. The first step in their work is the initial meeting, where discussions about goals and changes for the new season mark the beginning of planning for the 16th edition of the competition.
