Shortly after Facebook introduced the possibility of using 360° video, one such impressive video appeared on the Facebook page of The Voice – Najljepši glas Hrvatske (The Voice of Croatia). Users were given the opportunity to experience the studio in which the show is recorded in its full size, exactly as they would see it if they were sitting on the spot. All who wanted to know how it feels to be in the audience at The Voice were able to see it in the video.
“Things are changing day by day on digital channels, and every day we see more novelties. We like to try out each of them, in order to see for ourselves how we can further improve the experience for all viewers, regardless of platform. Thus, last year, only a day after it appeared, we used Twitter’s streaming service Periscope, and this year we started with 360° video. It’s certainly not the last one and we’ll make more of these video experiments, because the show is just beginning! But that’s just one of many things that we’re preparing to introduce,” said Aleksandar Kostadinov, spokesperson for The Voice of Croatia.
In its first season, The Voice of Croatia reigned over other digital channels, cleverly using the “second screen”. Thus #TheVoiceHRT hashtag was globally second in Twitter’s trending list, the YouTube channel had more than 30 million hits and the show won three SoMo Borac awards at the Weekend Media Festival for its digital performance.
