The third day of 23rd Golden Drum was defined by slogan Inspired to Inspire. Festival workshops, excellent speakers and discussions offered delegates new challenges, knowledge and opened up several new creative insights.
“You can make a real big thing as long as you’re authentic,” believes Darre van Dijk, Chief Creative Officer, TBWA/Neboko Amsterdam, Netherlands. Rather than the usual commercials, he encourages people to make funny and engaging videos.
Emily Hare, Managing Editor of Contagious Magazine and I/O intelligence platform from United Kingdom pointed out the importance of having a purpose: “For me, this is the most important. This means asking yourself: why do you exist as a brand?” She emphasized that people deserve a brand that has a purpose, “people want to buy from a brand that has a purpose.”
“Stay true to yourself,” said Folker Wrage, Chief Creative Officer, Havas Worldwide, Switzerland, and explained to delegates why it is stupid to have assholes in their organisation. “One toxic employee wipes out the value of two superstars.” As he pointed out, humanity is the first reason that separates the assholes from the good people.
Michaela Christine Wolf, Luxury Marketer, Michaela Christine Wolf Ltd, Austria, emphasized the need for recognizing client’s needs: “You have to start listening to what a customer needs and then cover it with the right communication.” It’s also important for clients to be in contact with people who understand their needs. Christine also suggested a possible solution: “Maybe you must have an expert there in order for people to connect.”
Today’s festival stage will host remarkable names, among them Eduardo Marques, Adam Nowakowski, Dušan Drakalski, Elena Grinta, Ioana Filip. After top lectures and seminars the Grand Finale awaits when winners will be announced, while festival drumming will end with legendary Golden Drum Closing Party – Final Explosion with Serbian producer and DJ Gramophonedzie.
