After more than two decades of successful business, IMC Agency has marked its progress by moving into a new office in the very center of Zagreb. A 200-square-meter apartment on Matice hrvatske Street has been redesigned into a modern office space with a breathtaking view of Strossmayer Square. The interior design was entrusted to Brigada, Croatia’s most awarded strategic interior design agency, which managed the entire renovation process.
“The apartment’s key characteristic, the enfilade layout, has been preserved and adapted to its new purpose, while the restored original parquet flooring enhances the authenticity and warmth of the interior. To modernize the space, we introduced bold contrasts between traditional elements, contemporary interventions, and existing features. In this spirit, the standard dropped ceiling was kept to provide an office-like atmosphere, contrasting the gentler residential ambiance,” says Damjan Geber from Brigada.

As a contrast to the elements of the Lower Town apartment, such as bordered walls, graphic wallpapers, and artwork, certain key walls have been stripped to reveal brickwork, adorned with street graffiti reminiscent of those seen on Zagreb’s facades. This intervention brings the vibrancy of street life into the space, creating a unique dialogue between Zagreb’s residential past and its urban present. The graffiti was a collaborative effort involving a professional street artist, IMC employees, Brigada architects, and clients during agency visits.

The project also includes a relaxation room for employees, distinctly different from the rest of the space. This playful and unconventional room offers employees a space to unwind, infusing creative energy into their daily work environment. Special attention was given to integrating the identity of IMC Agency into the design. The agency’s signature bright fuchsia color subtly appears throughout the interior, giving the space a unique visual identity and recognizability.
“As part of our strategic business development, we decided to relocate right to the city center, where we’re closer to our partners and clients. Personal contact is very important to us, despite all the technological options available today. Working in such a dynamic environment in this vibrant part of the city, which is alive year-round, is truly special. Moreover, working in such an inspiringly designed space that perfectly balances modern and traditional elements fosters a great work atmosphere and creativity, which is crucial for our daily operations. We’re especially delighted that our clients feel comfortable here as well,” says Ankica Mamić from IMC Agency.
