Creative networking site Working Not Working’s fourth annual list of Companies Creatives Would Kill to Work for Full Time is out, and the lineup once again features a mix of agencies, tech firms, retailers and design shops.
Twenty companies have remained on the list since its inception: Among them, agencies 72andSunny, Barton F. Graf, Droga5, BBDO, Mother, and Wieden & Kennedy. Tech giants including Airbnb, Apple, Google, NASA and SpaceX also scored their fourth placements, as did design firms IDEO, Pentagram, Sagmeister & Walsh and Buck, entertainment companies Disney and Pixar, retailers Nike and Patagonia, and auto brand Tesla.
Seven companies landed on the list for the first time: Instagram, agency Chandelier Creative, brand experience design firm Collins, online retailer Everlane, email marketing company Mailchimp, creative and tech production company Mediamonks, and design and animation company Oddfellows.
Five companies didn’t make the cut for the first time: Partners & Spade and Wolff Olins failed to hit the top 50, but did receive honorable mentions, while Red Bull, Project Projects and 2×4 dropped off the list.
Snapchat, which made the list for the first time last year, didn’t return in 2017. Instagram stepped in for the first time instead.
Working Not Working currently has 30,000 members in its network. It compiles the list by asking members, 64 percent of whom are freelance and 36 percent full-time, which companies they’d want to work for full-time. Nearly 1,000 members participated this year.
