TEDx is the most popular conference platform in the world. Until last year, the TEDx conference in Serbia was held only in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš, but in 2017 the first TEDx in a rural area was held, in Mokrin. TEDxMokrin was a great success first time, so it will once again be organized this year, on September 15, at the well-known location – the Mokrin House.
The theme of this year’s conference is “The Future Exists”, and what makes this event even more interesting is the fact that the event location itself, Mokrin House, is an example of futurism in Serbia. The way we live is drastically changing with ever-greater technology development. What kind of influence will such a dynamic environment have in the long run, and how our future everyday life will differ from today? This year’s TEDxMokrin “The Future Exists” focuses on the changes that will take place in the areas of design, technology, entertainment, education, social and civic life and many others.
“Today people rarely tie future to a village. That is why TEDxMokrin chose futurism as its topic this year, because technology today enables modern life in the village. That is why we are planning to bring together people from different fields who will talk from their unique angle about subjects worth sharing, and they will do it in a rural environment,” said the organizer of TEDxMokrin, Ivan Brkljač.
At this year’s TEDx we can expect themes such as the future of education, the future of mankind, the future of design… Some of the speakers already confirmed for the event are Habib Lešević, Danijela Grubnić and Slavimir Stojanović Futro.
