Taco Bell has opened the doors of its first restaurant in Ilidža, Sarajevo, marking a major milestone in Taco Bell’s international expansion and its first appearance in the Balkans.
“The arrival of Taco Bell in Sarajevo is a key step in our international growth trajectory,” said Ian Cranna, General Manager of Taco Bell for Europe. “The dynamic market of Bosnia and Herzegovina offers us a unique opportunity to connect with new customers and expand our presence in the Balkans.”
The new location in Ilidža will advance Taco Bell’s strategic plan to expand its presence in the Balkan region and beyond. Bosnia and Herzegovina has shown strong growth in the fast and casual dining sector, and Sarajevo, as a cultural and business hub, represents a significant opportunity for the brand.
Known for its unique offerings and Mexican-inspired menu, Taco Bell will introduce its signature items, including a variety of tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and more. The new restaurant is located at Mustafe Pintola 2D, Sarajevo. On opening day, October 17th, the first 100 customers received a free Crunchy Taco with their order.

“We are excited to bring the Taco Bell brand and its iconic flavors to Sarajevo. Our team is dedicated to providing a unique experience that combines Taco Bell’s innovative menu with a welcoming atmosphere,” said Peđa Sarajilić from Aphta Group, the franchise group responsible for opening the Sarajevo restaurant.
Taco Bell partners with franchise holders, such as Aptha Group, to build trust and strengthen relationships in local markets. Leveraging insights from the global market and franchisee expertise, Taco Bell aims to foster growth and maintain its leadership position among fast food restaurants.
“By working with Aptha Group, Taco Bell is able to bring our unique dining experience to new markets and continue growing as a global brand,” said Scott Mezvinsky, President of Taco Bell for International Markets and North America. “This partnership will increase Taco Bell’s presence in Europe, solidifying our regional presence and advancing our global growth ambitions. I’m highly optimistic about our partnership with Aptha Group and the expansion of our brand to our latest market, Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
The restaurant will operate seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and will employ 35 people.
