Agencies are continuously finding ways to utilize technological advances and deliver their creative ideas in new, more engaging ways, and one such campaign has been launched by a Swedish pharmacy.
Swedish pharmacy chain Apotek Hjartat taped the agency Akestam Holst to do an innovative anti-smoking campaign for them, and the agency most certainly delivered. Using smart OOH advertising, the agency took a digital billboard and gave it the ability to detect smoke and cough at the smokers as they pass it.
This was made possible thanks to the smoke detectors installed in the digital billboard, and is aimed at “helping customers keep their New Year’s resolutions” to quit smoking.
On the other hand, it might be a good thing that such a campaign was not implemented in the Adriatic region, as I cannot escape the feeling that you would see a bunch of people standing around the billboard trying to make it cough intentionally.
