The projects that made it to the final selection for the titles of the best in the region have finally been revealed. More than 80 members of the expert jury had the task of selecting the best from a pool of 235 projects submitted for this year’s SoMo Borac awards.
The judging process consists of two rounds—during the first round, the jury selected works from each category that would enter the shortlist, followed by the second round, where winners in each category will be chosen and announced at the awards ceremony in Zagreb.
The members of the advertising jury had their hands full, as 11 categories were grouped in this stream, with one new category introduced this year—Digital Product. Ksenija Latković Kozarac, Director of Digital Communications at Podravka and chairperson of the jury, said: “Choosing the best works is never an easy task, especially when the differences between them are so slight. I greatly appreciate the effort of all my colleagues on the advertising jury, who did a tremendous job with much attention and enthusiasm, and I believe we’ve deservedly selected those who will move forward. This year, the digital scene truly shines with innovation, and the works that will be awarded in less than ten days will perfectly illustrate that.”
A new category, Best Media Feature, was also introduced in the media stream, while the category with the most entries was Best Storytelling. Maja Blumenšajn, Director of New Media at Nova TV, member of HUDI, and chairperson of the media jury, reflected on this year’s judging process: “This year was particularly challenging for media outlets due to a whole range of significant political, sports, and social events. In such circumstances, the extra effort invested in conceptualizing and executing creative projects, which we had the honor to evaluate in this category, is a great achievement in itself. Therefore, I wholeheartedly congratulate all colleagues who worked diligently, and I look forward to the well-deserved gathering at the awards ceremony and party on October 25.”
Renowned domestic and international experts at SoMo Borac will share their knowledge to promote and develop the profession in the region. After the exchange of knowledge and experiences, the well-known best party in town will follow, which once again this year will not disappoint.
