28th SOF, to be held on 11 and 12 April in Portorož, has announced another exclusive guest. He is Dragan Bjelogrlić, a Serbian actor, screenwriter, producer and director.
Dragan Bjelogrlić first appeared in front of the cameras in the role of Sava Jovanović Sirogojno, in the film Boško Buha, fifteen years ago. After graduating from the Belgrade School of Drama Arts, he has proved to be one of the leading Serbian artists and actors in numerous roles. His popularity brought him the role of Slobodan Popadic in the Better Life series, followed by roles in the series Zaboravljeni, and then movies Crni Bombarder, Pun mjesec nad Beogradom and Lijepa sela lijepo gore.
He has played in 40 movies, 20 television series and dramas and 11 theatre shows. In 1994, he founded the production house Kobra Film, which in the next few years signed some of the most watched theatre shows, films and television series.
He recently tried his hand as a producer. The first movie he produced was the Lijepa sela lijepo gore. He continued showing his artistic ambitions as a director. He directed a television series and a full-length movie Montevideo, bog te video! with which he achieved a great success, including the nomination for the Serbian representative for the Oscars. In recent years, he has set a new standard for television series, achieving a great success with the series Sjenke nad Balkanom, (Shadows over the Balkans) that will soon get new episodes.
Dragan has won more than 15 film awards at domestic festivals and over 20 international awards. For the Montevideo series, he won the Golden Antenna for the best screenplay, and for Montevideo movie, he won the audience award in Moscow. He was also awarded with two Golden Mimosas for Best Lead Role in Lijepa sela lepo gore at the Herceg Novi Film Festival, and two major awards for the best actor at the festival in Niš.
