Media trends conference SEMPL this year will be held for the eighteenth time, and it greets this important anniversary with a new visual identity, which emphasizes the strength of this regional brand and its identity. In its eighteenth edition, which will be held on 24 and 25 November 2016 in Portorož, SEMPL remains faithful to the discovery of the latest trends in the field of media, marketing and communication.
Media trends conference SEMPL is an internationally recognized educational event centered on current events in the field of media, marketing and communications in the Adriatic region and presents and analyzes examples of local and international best practices. Last year’s conference was attended by thousands of delegates from Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia, from leaders of marketing and marketing communications, brand managers, sellers of advertising space in the media, media planners and strategists to advertising creatives and all others who clear the tracks to media trends and successfully incorporate them in their actions.
“SEMPL’s previous seventeen visual identities were very diverse,” said Valerija Prevolšek, its president and director of the Media Pool, one of the largest media buyers in Slovenia, which is organizing the conference since 1998. “It was reborn, loyal, we sailed in international waters, celebrated trends, but regardless of the red thread we have always strived above all to create trends. From a narrowly-focused seminar for media planners, SEMPL transformed into an event where, in addition to modern marketing and communication skills, more and more we see development, innovation and new technologies coming to the fore.”
New visual identity comes from Futura
According to her, SEMPL is today a professional, entertaining, dynamic and modern event, so it was time for it to enter maturity with a logo and visual identity that will express all this. “We put a strong brand to the forefront and its identity that we’ve all carefully built and developed over the years,” Valerija said speaking of the new visual identity designed by advertising agency Futura.
Robert Križmančič, art director at Futura DDB, explains that the new visual identity of the conference follows the positioning of the event which is determined by a high level of recognition and a strong identity. Users know what to expect from SEMPL, and their expectations are often associated with their personal experiences.
SEMPL is what sells SEMPL
“In the background of SEMPL is a clear and recognizable story which we visually interpret through placing a typographic message in a contextual picture. SEMPL is what sells SEMPL. The entire visual identity is also time lasting and will be able to support the familiar mix of professional and social achievements of one of the most recognizable regional media and communications conference in the years to come,” Futura explained the idea behind the new visual identity of SEMPL. Futura also developed the secondary elements of visual identity intended for labeling and branding that will give color hue to SEMPL each year.
“I’m proud that in the region SEMPL today is synonymous with excellent conference, and Futura succeeded in fantastically expressing its spirit in all elements of the new visual identity”, Valerija added.
SEMPL is an event where strategists and creatives meet, as well as those who think both digital and analog, and the red thread that they pursue for years now, and will be followed in the future, is excellence. The conference will again this year host top-notch lectures, in an atmosphere of informal talks it will connect leading marketing experts from the region, and will pay tribute to the successes in the media environment of the Adriatic region with Sempler awards.
