The first edition of the Digital Shapers Conference, organized by RTL Croatia, gathered more than seven hundred participants in the Zagreb’s Kaptol Boutique Cinema.
Digital transformation is one of the key topics of the modern economy, and because of its great importance, this process is often referred to as the fourth industrial revolution. Encouraged by the current changes, RTL Croatia has launched the unique Digital Shapers platform, whose culmination came in the form of yesterday’s conference.
The conference was opened by the CEO of RTL Croatia, Henning Tewes, who expressed immense satisfaction with the large number of participants gathered. A series of interesting lectures was started by CO-CEO of RTL Group Bert Habets who spoke about the changes that digital transformation brings to TV.
“Today, our biggest task is to attract and keep the attention of the viewer. The media are transforming, and technological changes are very fast. Today’s television must follow these changes. More channels are being launched, including more and more specialized ones. But we must also spread to other communication platforms and provide quality content. Content is crucial today. RTL will continue to invest in entertaining and informative content that enjoy public trust, while keeping up with global media and technological trends. The digital sector currently occupies 10 percent of RTL’s total business, and this figure will rise to 15 to 20 percent in the next two years,” said Habets.
RTL Croatia’s Henning Tewes confirmed that the DNA of TV and RTL group is changing, and announced the new platform RTL Play which will be launched in January.
“The platform represents a modern, advanced service perfect for advertising. RTL play will offer live streaming, interesting content and video on demand, and provide personalized experience,” Tewes announced.
The conference continued with interesting lectures by Hugues Decosse of Deliveroo, who talked about innovation in the food sector, Luka Baranovic from Croatian Telecom, Oliver Drost, Stephane Coruble and others.
Particularly interesting to the participants was the panel discussion “The Show never stops: Show business of social media” moderated by Antonija Mandic, and attended by television hosts Marijana Batinić, Antonija Blaće and Zoran Šprajc who revealed details of their communication strategy on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
