In about a month or so, from 13 – 15 of November, the Plaza Event Centre in Zagreb will host 11th PMI Forum named “Tricks of the trade of a Successful Project Manager” which will be attended by regional experts from the field. Around 400 participants will have a chance to expand their knowledge through various workshops, hear about new trends in the field and meet new colleagues and share their experiences and challenges.
During the three-day Forum, over 20 speakers will talk about their experiences and accumulated knowledge through various workshops and presentations. PMI Croatia will present the latest Project Management trends in Croatia and EBRD’s Vedrana Jelusic Kasic will talk about the strategy of sustainable economy development within capital markets.
The conference is an excellent opportunity to learn about the best systemic solutions for project management, portfolios and company programmes; the solutions which support all elements of management starting from planning, realisation, monitoring to prioritising and risk management. The speakers from Altima, Primakon, Algebra, Sedam IT and Spin will present concrete case studies to implement the solutions.
Furthermore, the participants will learn about how to use “the language sponsors understand” and will be able to attend panel discussion and hear firsthand how successful project managers developed their skills. There will be a presentation on much talked about Blockchain, Deloitte’s Mitja Kumar’s talk and a case study by Branimir Medic, a prominent architect who lives and works in Amsterdam. Zijah A. Sokolovic will be giving a theatrical workshop; skills learned there will be useful in both private and professional life.
All day workshops feature prominently in the PMI Forum programme, they are in great demand because they offer the participants immediately transferable knowledge and skills. This year there will be four workshops, two on Monday the 13th and two on Thursday the 15th. One of Monday’s workshops will be hosted by local experts Zeljko Trogrlic and Stanislav Stresnjak, the workshop title is “Agile Assessment and Planning”. Running concurrently, Tatjana Kotarski, an experienced project manager will host a workshop titled “How to become and remain successful Project Manager” aimed at juniors and aspiring project managers offering basic knowledge and practical advice. The Forum’s final workshops on Wednesday will be an all day workshop hosted by Alfonso Bucero, Spanish expert, speaker and author of many bestsellers, titled “How to develop the art of influencing to achieve a successful project”; the workshop theme will be a very often needed key skill how to influence others. At the same time, workshop titled “SDI: Why we do what we do” run by Tihana Dragicevic, a life coach of long standing, will be useful for anyone involved with teamwork.
There will be awards for most successful projects in several categories; there is still time for interested companies to put themselves forward.
Of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for socialising and exchange of experiences amongst professionals.
Registration for the PMI Forum is now open, and you can register on line. Students get 70 percent discount for the whole event.
