After the Azores and their breathtaking wild, yet gentle beauty, the latest shooting that Real Grupa did at some exotic location was in Brazil, where the group recorded a campaign for bananas. Filming took place in the middle of the rainforest, and the local banana pickers never before saw foreigners, so they had to take the opportunity to take pictures with the production team that was a real attraction.
Albino Uršić, one of the creative directors of Real Grupa, revealed the experiences from the set:
“We shot from the Azores to Brazil and each experience was different, unique, but what is common to all is that, despite the strenuous pace of recording, every new location was a new excitement and challenge, and always good fun. Cooperation with global production companies is similar, in fact the only difference is the language, and we choose the ones that have the best experience to ensure top quality production that can best translate our creative idea and concept into practice.”
The tempo while shooting was demanding, so in Brazil the working day began before dawn, since the international production team was waiting sunrise in the jungle to begin recording. And what life is like in Brazil – sights and food, and especially bananas, which are the focus of the campaign – Albino says:
“Usually we have no time for sightseeing, but it’s interesting that, no matter where we record, we have a good eye for detail and always find a better impression than the local people, who might not notice some details because they are constantly there. For us, it’s all new, and therefore we better observe some specific details that we use later in the creative sense. Bananas in Brazil are picked green to ripen on the way to other continents. We tried the bananas that locals eat, because they have the opportunity to enjoy a banana that was allowed to ripen in the hot sun of Brazil which gives them a unique flavor and aroma. We enjoyed the excellent Brazilian food when we were welcomed by the owners of the plantation, where we ate superbly prepared meat, specific local fruits and vegetables, and drank the Cachaça – an alcoholic drink made from sugar cane. And in the end, we taught them a song in Croatian, and we all had a good laugh. Until the next shooting, perhaps again in Brazil!”
