Today marks the start of a major campaign by Radenska Adriatic and the O2 project Good Things Fall from the Sky, which is part of the Heart for Tomorrow platform, aiming to reforest as much of the Vukovar Danube region as possible. This is a significant project, considering that forests the size of 27 football fields disappear from the Earth’s surface every minute.

The campaign has both educational and practical elements: by answering a biodiversity-related question on the website srcemzasutra.hr, participants can activate a free coupon, which Radenska Adriatic will use to plant an additional square meter of forest in the Vukovar Danube region. Companies can join by donating funds to plant larger areas, thereby promoting green building initiatives.

Marian Šefčović, Director of Radenska Adriatic, stated: “In addition to the tangible benefits for the growth and development of the forest ecosystem, the guiding principle of the Heart for Tomorrow platform is to raise awareness about the value of forests and provide environmental education for new, responsible generations. Over the past four years, Radenska Adriatic has planted a total of 80,000 new trees in Croatia and Slovenia, as we believe that sustainable development and responsible business practices are the cornerstones of progress for any society and country. With this campaign, we also encourage the public to choose returnable glass packaging when purchasing Radenska, as it is the most environmentally friendly option, producing up to 85% less CO2 emissions in its life cycle compared to non-returnable bottles.”

In addition to Croatia, the campaign also kicks off today in Slovenia, where reforestation efforts will focus on the Karst region, which was severely affected by wildfires in July of this year. Reforestation in Croatia is planned for late October, while in Slovenia, it will begin in early November.

This year’s reforestation efforts use innovative methods, including drones and specially prepared seed bombs that can quickly cover large areas. This promotes reforestation, which is crucial for restoring nature and combating climate change, which is responsible for natural disasters such as storms, floods, and wildfires. Healthy forests are invaluable to human well-being, serving as natural air purifiers, temperature regulators, and spaces for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature, which is essential for our mental and physical health.
