Publicis Skopje Celebrated Skopsko’s 100th Birthday with a Spectacular Event and a New Video Commercial

The most famous Macedonian beer brand, Skopsko, celebrated its 100th birthday with a new video commercial and an extraordinary event filled with a modern and rich combination of visual effects, popular local music, and a lot of emotion from an audience of over 50,000 people, who happily raised their glasses in the biggest toast ever!

“The new video for Skopsko was made with the people who love to drink it. Traveling across the country, we interviewed hundreds of people, asking them the same question: ‘What would a commercial for Skopsko look like if you directed it?’. We collected their ideas and turned them into a campaign — creating a shared vision for Skopsko, a video commercial made by the people,” stated Publicis Skopje.

The event, filled with flames on stage, various light effects, wristbands that lit up to the rhythm of the music, and drones, was like something never seen before. The City Park in Skopje was literally too small to accommodate all the lovers of good music and their favorite Skopsko beer.

The area around the City Park shone in the spirit and colors of Skopsko: visual projections could be seen on the MCM building, in front of the Goce Delčev monument in the park itself, and at the stands where beer was being served. At the heart of the celebration, a special installation of 600 barrels forming the number 100 was set up, along with a large cube (5x5m) where Skopsko’s history was displayed through 3D mapping. Skopsko’s birthday was an unforgettable experience that will be remembered for a long time.

The activities surrounding Skopsko’s grand jubilee were led by the Publicis Skopje agency, which ensured that the entire summer was an exciting build-up to the big event. For the “warming up” phase, Publicis Skopje organized a “traveling crate” (beer bottle crate) that passed through seven different cities, bringing the celebration closer to the people, reminding them that Skopsko is everywhere they are. The traveling crate was an interactive museum where visitors could learn more about the production process of Skopsko, its characteristics, and its tradition.

Publicis Skopje told a complete and rich story of Skopsko, which helped create a magical evening filled with emotions, celebrating not only Skopsko’s birthday but also rounding off a summer full of excitement, prizes, friendships, and fun activities.
