Three presidents of international and national communication associations, representatives of leading institutions, and experts from different parts of the world will gather in Ljubljana from April 7 to 9, 2027, for the 24th edition of the PRO PR Conference. Under the theme Leadership in Communication, the conference will bring together 35 speakers and panelists at the DoubleTree by Hilton Ljubljana hotel, with organizers expecting more than 250 participants.
The conference will be opened by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, who will address participants and share her own experiences in the field of communication.
Confirmed speakers include Prof. Justin Green, President and CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Dan Gerella, President-Elect of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) for 2027, and Dr. Takashi Inoue, President of the Japanese Society for Public Relations and Director of Inoue Public Relations.
The program will also feature Nataša Pavlović Bujas, former President of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and Souha Khairallah, a representative of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA). The conference is also supported by the Slovensko društvo za odnose z javnostmi (PRSS).
Among the announced speakers are Anthony Pickles, Director of Communications at the British Museum, Robert Wester, Director of Communications and City Branding at the City of The Hague, and Abdulrahman Inayat, Co-Founder and Director of the Saudi agency W7Worldwide.
The program will include presentations, professional discussions, and two panels, alongside the continuation of the PRO PR Talk format, in which company executives and institutional leaders share their experiences in communication management. Their names will be announced at a later date. Also announced is Gastro PR, a program segment connecting the communication profession with gastronomy and the regional culinary scene.
Danijel Koletić, Founder and President of the conference’s Organizing Committee, emphasizes that, when developing the program, he decided to maintain a focus on experience and strategic communication management, despite the growing prominence of artificial intelligence topics at professional events.
“Preparing the program is very challenging because so many topics today are related to artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, I decided to focus specifically on leaders in communication who bring experience, knowledge, and strategic management of communication processes,” Koletić stated.
He adds that the conference remains dedicated to public relations and the practical exchange of knowledge, guided by the networking concept Networking in Motion. He also identifies artificial intelligence as one of the greatest challenges facing the communication industry, particularly due to the lack of clear legal regulations protecting human work and creativity.
As part of the conference, April 8 will also mark the 15th presentation of the international PRO PR Globe People Achievement Awards and World Best of the Best recognitions, honoring individuals who have contributed to the development of public relations and communication management. The nomination and award process involves no financial fees, while previous recipients and four global associations participate in the nominations. PRO PR Globe Awards recipients will also receive graphic artworks created by students of the Academy of Applied Arts at the University of Rijeka.
