Category with the most shortlisted works (4) is the Services – Retail, followed by Social Good with two finalists, while the other seven categories had one finalist each. Advertisers whose entries won over the jury are: Telekom Slovenije with three campaigns, Droga Kolinska / Atlantic Grupa, Mercator and UNICEF Slovenia with two each, and A1 Slovenia, Lidl Slovenia, Pivovarna Laško Union and Spar Slovenia each with one campaign.

“I’m glad that we received a lot of quality entries. It wasn’t an easy task for the jury. I would once again like to thank all the applicants and members of the jury for their work. I am delighted that a constructive professional debate took place in the jury, and that we compared the different aspects of each entry. In most cases it was the details that decided on entry into the finals,” said the president of the first-instance jury of Effie Slovenia 2018, Tina Kumelj, Marketing Director of Ljubljanske Mlekarne. The preliminary jury also included: Mojca Goršič, A1 Slovenia, Manja Gradišek, NLB, Tine Lugarič, Luna\TBWA, Gregor Memedović, Next Media, Nataša Mithans, Vareo, Jasna Potrata, Innovatif, Karmen Rodman, Pivka živinarstvo, Irena Setinšek, Mediana and Urška Tuškej Lovšin, FDV.

In the second round, a 15-member jury will judge the campaigns per categories, whereby the jury has the right to combine or divide the categories. The jury will award the best campaigns with gold, silver, bronze, and perhaps even a platinum Effie, based on the number of points in each category. All finalists and winners of the Effie Slovenia Award will be included on the Effie Effectiveness Index and lists of the most efficient agency networks, agencies, advertisers and brands that are published every year by Effie Worldwide Inc. and WARC.

Shortlisted entries will be presented at the Effie event on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hotel Slon Ljubljana. The presentation of the shortlisted works will be followed by three lectures, including a lecture by Jeamie Peate, Global Head of Retail Strategy at McCann Worldgroup, which in 2018 became the most efficient agency network in Europe both at Effie and at IPRA Awards.

The winners will be officially announced in the evening of the same day, at the gala ceremony of Effie Slovenia 2018, which will be held at the Festival Hall in Ljubljana.
