If there’s one thing you’ll remember about “Baywatch,” it’s the infamous slo-mo running of the show’s lifeguard heroes.
So to promote the return of the iconically cheesy ’80s show as a movie (opening May 25 and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron), Paramount held what it’s calling the “world’s first slo-mo marathon.”
Agency Droga5 London filmed the event in downtown L.A. back in April, with director Henry-Alex Rubin of Smuggler. The video, seen here, features some of the “Baywatch” cast in their red swimsuits, plus random fans of the show slogging it out to do their best impression of slo-mo racing. There’s also a runner in a shark costume, and some commentator tips on slo-mo running success, including the ideal facial expression (“sexy and determined, both at the same time”).
Silly stuff — but if you’d forgotten how much you guiltily enjoyed “Baywatch,” you’ll now have it indelibly imprinted on your brain.
