The Agency Ovation BBDO in collaboration with some media houses has organised a campaign against violence. Using Instagram story channel and clickbait, for the first time Instagram users were given the opportunity to observe violence in society and think about its causes. “Recent cases of violence in secondary schools in Arandjelovac shocked Serbia. School violence is a reality and its causes are routed in our culture, institutions and public life. We realise that to remove violence from society is a complex undertaking and requires time. One of the best ways to stop violence from happening is to report it when we see it. Something we can all play a role in”, was the message from the Ovation BBDO.
The Agency tells us that by using the Instagram story platform they tried to highlight our duty not to tolerate violence and remain silent about it. “It is not enough to just take pictures, have a look, chat about it and share. We all have a moral obligation to take action and report it to the authorities. Even more so when it is violence in schools because the effects of violence on young minds scar for life. By using this creative process we are turning the spotlight on ourselves,” they added.
This campaign has been supported by Prva TV, Telegraf, televizija O2, Wannabe Instagram pages and portals. Ovation BBDO invites all those interested to follow the link to Instagram story and share it with their followers thereby helping the appeal for a more concrete reaction against violence.
