At the forthcoming PRO.PR conference, which will be held April 7 to 10 in Budva, Montenegro, among the renowned communications experts who will participate one of the names that certainly stand out is that of Prof. Dr. George Dieter Herbst, lecturer at the University of Berlin, who will hold a lecture together with his colleague Thomas Musiolik, a doctoral student at the university, about relationship management in the digital media.
The link between an organization and its public is in the centre of interests of each research and PR practice. Digital media can contribute to the relationships of companies with their audiences through a unique way of using “the big four”: integration, availability, connectivity and interactivity. Connectivity and interactivity in this regard are the most important factors. Social network channels have opened new opportunities for companies through a variety of web-based platforms where users meet, communicate, share ideas, and even create products. As a result, this professorial duo believes that organizations need to set long-term processes through which they will professionally manage relationships with their audiences.
Lecture by Thomas Musiolik and Prof.Dr. Herbst is scheduled for Friday, 8 April 2016.
Professor Herbst studied economics, sociology, journalism, pedagogy and psychology at the Universities of Frankfurt, Berlin and Hagen.
More than fifteen years, he worked in the department of corporate communication in the pharmaceutical company Schering. In 1993 he launched his first website, and the following year launched the intranet of this global company, as well as its official website. In addition to the University of Berlin, Professor Herbst also teaches at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer at universities in Shanghai, Nantes and Bangalore. He is author of 20 scientific books.
