#odapoeziji (#odetopoetry) is an original project of the entrepreneur, writer and poet Lea Brezar, and for the second consecutive year it will adorn the streets of Zagreb over fourteen days.
This project promotes a culture of reading poetry, and as the author says, poetry is the shortest way to someone’s heart, and she therefore hopes that this year the campaign will again be successful.
In a world in which everything is sold, and little things are given, with this project the author wants to show how little is enough to make someone happy, so it gave to the city seven poems in five locations, that sing of love, change, circumstances, joy, selflessness and freedom, with hope that her poetry will really reach hearts and encourage people to change.
“Of course this campaign has a dual purpose; first is promotion of poetry, and the other is an invitation to reflection and change in lifestyle, thinking and understanding oneself. With my affirmative poetry, and verses ‘And press her tightly to your chest. Change, be brave, dare!’ or ‘Only love is a must, only that has sense because we can’t leave our skin, in spite of everything and everybody.’ I try to point to the personal choices that are always in our hands, and on which happiness depends,” says Lea Brezar, and concludes: “Reflecting on own actions and changing those that aren’t useful to us is a liberating experience. If we don’t do that, we remain in our own selfishness, bedazzled with the ‘I, me, mine’.”
