It seems there’s no Brexit for Facebook, as this social network plans to expand its London staff by 50%.
Bloomberg’s Giles Turner reported that the social network will increase its London staff from 1,000 to 1,500, as it moves to new HQ in this city next year. Bloomberg also added that the U.K. is home to the company’s largest engineering base outside of the U.S., and that its recently introduced Workplace offering for businesses was developed in London.
Facebook’s vp for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Nicola Mendelsohn said in a speech Monday to the Confederation of British Industry: “Many of those new roles will be high-skilled engineering jobs. The U.K. remains one of the best places to be a tech company and is an important part of Facebook’s story. We need to make sure we continue to look outward and not inward. We need to stay competitive.”
