Having studied mechanical engineering, pursued music, and worked in sales, Dario Marčac ultimately ended up on TikTok. He explains that it wasn’t by accident and that the knowledge he had gained earlier helped him create engaging content and achieve successful placement.
“I seized the potential of an untapped market,” Marčac revealed in the latest Špica with Macan, explaining how he came up with the idea to start Crew, a company that paved the way for quality TikTok advertising. Today, he collaborates with hundreds of creators, manages profiles for various brands, and conducts numerous workshops and training sessions, ultimately earning him a spot on Lider’s 30 Under 30 list.
Aspiring actress Nina Skočak joined TikTok without a plan to build a career on the platform. What started as a hobby turned into a highly successful business. Although many people still don’t fully understand what influencers do, Nina explains that they are serious businesspeople: “We have businesses, accountants, and pay taxes – these are all small entrepreneurs.”
Her first viral video was recorded on her first day at work in the EU Parliament. When she realized there were more men named Martin than people under 30 in the room, she decided to run for office. Running a completely online campaign without any funding, she gained the support of about 30,000 people, attracting attention from both local and European media.
For politicians, being present and authentic on social media will be crucial for engaging the new generation of voters. As the guests of Špica explain, “New generations don’t Google; they TikTok.” While Gen Z is different in many ways, Nina and Dario debunk myths about themselves, emphasizing that young people are willing to work hard, but with more options available, they can do so on their own terms.
