One of the main trends today in the world, which is definitely set to continue far into the future, is healthy lifestyle. There’s no doubt that health and wellness is on the minds of consumers, retailers and manufacturers around the world alike.
And for good reason. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1.9 billion people globally are overweight, and multiple studies have shown that societies around the world need to change their habits for the healthier.
However, Nielsen’s latest report shows that consumers are quite aware of these issues, as their data has found that consumers are invested in their health. In fact, 72% of global consumers say they would buy foods that include superfoods.
As a result, retailers, manufacturers, health care providers and even governments are reacting to the evolving health needs and concerns of consumers around the world, but there is still more work to be done.
Towards that end, Nielsen has released their 2018 Global Well-being Annual Report. The company, which employs 45,000 people around the world, has also launched its innovative “The Whole You” program based on four pillars of health, to help their associates and their families live healthier.
The Whole You program provides resources and incentives that enable Nielsen’s employees to be better health care consumers and lead healthier lives.
